Description

Indo-Parthians. Later Indo-Parthians in Arachosia (150-240 AD)

Farn-Sasan was one of the last rulers of the Indo-Parthian Kingdom, a dynasty that controlled parts of modern-day Afghanistan, Pakistan, and northwestern India during the 1st–3rd centuries AD. The Indo-Parthians were descendants of the Parthian Arsacid dynasty, and their rule overlapped with the Kushans and Sassanids

Farn-Sasan ruled during the late 3rd century CE, likely as a vassal of or in opposition to the Sassanid Empire, which was expanding into former Indo-Parthian territories. His coinage reflects a blend of Hellenistic, Parthian, and Indo-Iranian influences, characteristic of the region’s mixed cultural heritage
