Sorpedonus is a lesser-known ruler of the Indo-Parthian kingdom. The Indo-Parthians were a dynasty of Parthian origin that controlled parts of present-day Afghanistan, Pakistan, and northwestern India. They are most famously associated with Gondophares I, the founder of the dynasty

His coins follow the standard Indo-Parthian style, featuring Hellenistic and Iranian influences and typically depict a king in a Parthian-style attire on the obverse and a Greek or Indian deity on the reverse
