Central Asia. Soghd. Ustrushana. Satachary. 6th-7th century AD
Ustrushana was a historically significant region in Central Asia, located between Sogdiana and Ferghana (modern-day Tajikistan and Uzbekistan). It was a semi-independent principality known for its unique cultural and political influences from Sogdian, Persian, and Turkic traditions.
One of the known rulers of Ustrushana was Satachary, who likely ruled in the 8th–9th century AD, during the period of Arab expansion into Central Asia. The rulers of Ustrushana, called Afshins, maintained a semi-autonomous status while dealing with Arab forces and other regional powers, such as the Tangs and the Western Turks
