OBVERSE: Shahada, “Al-Qadir” above; “billah” to left. Yamin al-daula wa amin mahmud al-milla (..Mahmud guardian of the faith) below. Margins: bismillah zuriba haza ed-dirhem Mahmudpur fi sanat (date)

REVERSE: the Sanskrit text in Sarada characters reads: avyaktameka muhammada avatar nrpati mahamuda (The Invisible is One; Muhammad is the manifestation; Mahmud the king). The circular margin reads: Ayam tankam mahamudapura ghatita ta jikiyera samvati…(this tanka struck at Mahmudpur in the Arabic year …)
