Amirs of Bust. Abu’l-Qasim Takantash, 977-979AD
Bust (modern-day Lashkar Gah, Afghanistan) was an important city in Sistan during the 10th century, strategically located on trade routes between Khorasan, India, and Persia. It was ruled by various regional dynasties, often acting as a frontier province contested by larger empires like the Samanids, Ghaznavids, and Buyids
Takantash was a local amir (ruler) of Bust, likely serving under the Samanid dynasty as a semi-independent governor or military commander. The Samanids (819–999AD) controlled much of Iran and Central Asia, but their power was declining by the late 10th century, allowing local rulers in Sistan, including Takantash, to issue their own coinage
