During the Abbasid Revolution (747–750AD), the province of Sijistan (modern-day Sistan, Iran-Afghanistan border region) was a key battleground between the Abbasid forces and the remnants of Umayyad rule. Following the Abbasid victory, local governors were appointed to secure control over the province
