Abbasid Revolution. ‘Imran b. Isma’il (136AH)
After the Abbasid victory over the Umayyads in 132AH (750AD), the new caliphate had to consolidate its control over the vast Islamic empire. Governors were appointed to manage different regions, and one such figure was ‘Imran b. Isma‘il, who served as governor in 136AH (753-754AD) during the early Abbasid period
At this time, the Abbasids were still securing their rule, and local governors were responsible for issuing coinage in their territories. The coins of ‘Imran b. Isma‘il belong to this transitional phase when Abbasid administrative structures were being firmly established
