Iranian Huns. Hephthalites in Bactria. “Tobazini” / “Goboziko” (first half of V cent. AD)
The Hunnic tribes that ruled parts of Central Asia, Bactria, and the Indian subcontinent during the 4th–6th centuries AD issued a variety of coins influenced by earlier Kushan, Sassanian, and Gupta coinage. Two rulers, Tobazini and Goboziko, are known from their coinage, but very little is recorded about their reigns in historical texts
These rulers were likely part of the Nezak Huns or another Iranian-Hunnic confederation that controlled Afghanistan and northern India. Their coins show a mix of Kushan-Sassanian styles, indicating their connection to both Iranian and Indian cultures
